Owners: Emiel K. and Lynda W. Smet
When Lynda retired from teaching high school biology in 2004, the first two weanlings came to live at Windemeer Farm, and now the small herd has increased to around 22 with 2 senior jacks, 15 jennets and 4-6 new foals each year. This number will always stay on the small side so that each donkey receives daily attention and care.
We would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to miniature donkeys and help you choose one...or two... to go home with you! Our foals are weaned at 4-6 months, and a small deposit will hold them for you until they are ready for their new home. We do insist that our donkeys go to a home where they have an equine companion. This can be a horse, pony, miniature horse or donkey, with a donkey being preferred. Occasionally, we will let them go to a home with other types of companions, but they must have a "buddy" and can not be lonely! They are herd animals! Please check our "For Sale" page for weanlings and new foal announcements.
